Oui Oui!

Bonjour!

Paris so far has been pretty amazing! We arrived yesterday and found our hotel before going in search of some lunch. I found some crepes around 30meters from our door and almost died of happiness when I bit into the melting Nutella....wowwww.

We went for a quick walk to the Louvre for a look before we had to get ready for our Moulin Rouge booking. The Louvre was much bigger than I imagined, as we arrived around 5:30 it was too late to go inside so we will save that for today :)

We took a cab to the top of the Montemarte district and had a lovely Parisian dinner. We tried the frogs legs- surprisingly ok.. I didn't love it but Dean did! Saving the snails for today...

As we left the restaurant we noticed the line for the show, it was huuuuuge (well so we thought) so we joined and watched as it tripled in size right to the other end of the street.

We were ushered inside and instructed that there was to be strictly no photos. Our seats were great, just to the right of the stage elevated so we have the perfect view & were still nice & close to all the action. The theatre itself is beautiful, and the costumes.... Oh the costumes! So much sparkle and colour and just wow.

The dancers were absolute perfection. All around the exact same tall height (175 minimum according to the website), and stunning. The show went for 2.5 hours and I don't think I blinked the entire time. It was fantastic and the acts in between the dancers were just as good as the show itself! One of the highlights was two dancers on roller skates who performed some rediculous acrobatics that I'm still wondering how. Then right when you don't think much more can happen the floor opens up and a huge fish tank rises full of the biggest snakes you've ever seen, in jumps the dancer twirling between them, all while trying to keep them all in the tank while they are trying to escape (so glad I wasn't in the front row, one got close!). I don't even have much to say about the show itself apart from how great it was, it's impossible to describe.

As our show was the 11pm session when we left the theatre well after 1:30am the street was bustling as we wandered for a while before catching a cab home.

We have lots lined up for today so probably lots of photos tonight/ tomorrow!

Au revoir!
